Armeni is a traditional Cretan village in an idyllic setting.  It has an abundance of wildlife due to its many natural springs that are shaded by the towering plane trees.

The name Armeni comes from the settlement by the Armenians in 961.  For a long time it was the seat of the provisional revolutionary government of Crete.  In May 1822, the leaders of Crete signed the Greek Constitution under the famous plane tree in the village square.

The sandy beach and many amenities at Kalives is only about 3km away.
