Vouves
The village of Vouves to the west of Chania is famous for the oldest olive tree in Greece. According to history, the tree is between 1500 and 2000 years old! The visitor can enjoy splendid walks among the surrounding villages, taking in the vibrant perfume of the orange trees in bloom, and tasting the olive oil and the pure Cretan wine. Also to be enjoyed is the tsikoudia or raki, aromatic honey and traditional fried fritters with honey.
